StellarArticles.com - Entertainment - PhotographyAdvantages to wedding photographers having a second shooterby Incredible Articles - Last Modified: 11/23/2007 ne of the most important things to being a wedding photographer is backing up everything. I have backup cameras, lenses, keys, batteries, cords even backup shoes and pants in the car. In fact, a backup car sounds like a good idea to me. If I could backup myself I would! Now I have!
Having people work for me that I trust is one of the keys to my confidence as a wedding photographer. Every photographer that I hire I have hand chosen for their professionalism, personality and skill. I had a dream the other night. It was one of my favorites clients big day at last. I don't know what actually happened to me in my dream, (I must have been dead or in the hospital) but when Pam, and another associate showed up at the wedding she did not even blink an eye. She simply said, wow, something must really be going on with Kim, but I am glad you are here! In my dream she felt confidant and knew she could expect the same quality she had seen from me. And of course, I wouldn't want her to feel said for me on their wedding day!
Not to mention that having a second photographer adds depth to your wedding coverage. Two photographers can shoot from two different angles or locations. It is possible to be in two places at once! One of my favorite examples of this is when the bride is arriving at the church. One photographer is in the back of the church photographing you arrive, and most importantly the intimate moments with you and your family members seconds before you walk down the aisle, and at the same time another photographer at the front of the church getting the pictures of the groom and the guest watching you come down the aisle.
Having a second shooter also provides perspectives of your wedding day. One photographer may shoot the overall story while the other photographer is shooting the details. Having two skilled photographers allows many more details and moments of your wedding to be captured.
Given that a wedding is a once and a lifetime experience I cannot imagine photographing a wedding without the added insurance of having someone to help me.
